Stallholders at the market

The following are the stallholders who sell products at Parnell Farmers' Market. Because our market supports seasonal produce, stallholders will only attend when they have fresh products to bring to market.

Ambleside Croft
Waiuku’s Lyn and James Haycock grow fabulous calla lillies for early summer bouquets.

Awatea Orchards
Mark, Pauline and Joe Henley produce organic Macadamia nuts and butter from the Kaipara region – they come to market in November and December. Look out for their umbrella and chalk board signs.

Bee Happy Honey
Award winning honey maker Carol Downer keeps bees in Grey Lynn, Beachlands and Kelmarna Organic Farm.  Lynn Greens brings the honey to market and sometimes on still dry days, Carol brings the bees for the kids to see. They sell creamed honey, honey comb, chunk honey, liquid raw honey, pollen and wax.

Cake Concepts (www.cakeconcepts.co.nz)
Vicki McCormick of Cake Concepts has been making cakes for 10 years in her North Shore commercial kitchen. She sells delicious baked goods for people with allergies, at Parnell Farmers’ Market. Flour-free chocolate slice; flour-free lemon cake, flour-free pop stick biscuits for the kids, flour-free orange cake, vegan carrot cake,; egg-free chocolate caramel slice, egg-free espresso mocha slice, dairy and flour-free chocolate cupcakes and flour-free rice bubble cones.

Clevedon Proteas (www.clevedonproteas.co.nz)
Clevedon Proteas is a small farm holding situated 40km southeast of Auckland City. Primarily designed to supply an array of Proteas, Waratahs, Hydrangea and foliage to florists and the local markets. Currently there are nine different flower types growing.

Convoy Lane
Convoy Lane is based in Otahuhu and is a family business. Their main crops are glasshouse table grapes, mandarins, snap peas, climbing and broad beans and passion fruit. Minor crops include fajitas, figs, sweet corn, lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit, tangelos and other veges. They attend the market most of the year.

Divan Café
Turgay Ozkul’s sister Fatih makes Turkish food for their family’s Divan Café at 95 Queen Street, Cit. He brings to market spicy walnut cemen and humus dips, cheese and parsley filled filo sigara boregi, potato and feta borek, sweet and cheese noodles made into Kunefe as well as sweet baklava.

Eureka Products
Martyn van Geest has hot houses in Drury where the family grow export quality orchids plants plus summer vegetables and salad ingredients  – capsicums, tomatoes, eggplants, Lebanese cucumbers and chillis.

Fresh Gardens
From Kumeu, Sally and John Yu bring a huge range of spray free fresh vegetables and fruit to the market. Fruit – feijoas, guava, lemons, mandarins, melons, oranges, passionfruit, peaches, pears, persimmons, plums and strawberries. Vegetables – a huge range of salad greens and green leafy vegetables, along with summer tomatoes, sweetcorn, zucchini, and peas. Winter staples include potatoes, pumpkins, broad beans, broccoli, cabbages and baby caulis – plus bagged herbs and garlic.

Fresh Gardens also deliver to private addresses every Wednesday, for vegetables ordered at the market on the preceding Saturday. Glenbrook Lavender Oil (www.glenbrooklavender.co.nz)
The leading natural lavender oil supplier who understands the vital needs of having high quality lavender oil. Each year Glenbrook Lavender Oil harvest 10,000 plants growing at its farm. The strict quality control procedures implemented at their processing plant has enabled them to produce only the best quality lavender oil and lavender oil-based products.

Heirloom Organix
Specialising in culinary herbs and heirloom vegetables, the Heirloom Organix seedlings are sold across Auckland through a wide range of garden centres, specialty stores and farmers' markets.

Irvine Grapes
Arthur Irvine grows spray free hot house table grapes in Kumeu and he brings them to our market in late summer – February to April. This year there will be figs from March and April.

Karaka Olives (www.karakaolives.co.nz)
Viv & Rob Dean, owners of Karaka Olives, have been tending their 1,000 olive trees for over seven years on their property in Karaka - just 50km south of downtown Auckland. They grow six varieties, and their oils have been awarded Gold, Silver & Bronze medals by Olives New Zealand's internationally accredited tasting panel. All oils are cold pressed and certified ‘Extra Virgin’.

Kedar Growers
Kaitai grows great Maori potatoes and Kedar bring down to market creamy yellow Pepuperu (or Kowiniwini), Huakaroro (knobby elongated tubers great for boiling), yellow fleshed Whataroa, blue black Urenika tubers and Uwhi (or Uwhiwhero) pink orange Maori potatoes.

Lister Products
Kathy Lister’s sparkling A-grade commercial kitchen in Waiuku produces jams and chutneys from the seasonal fruit they grow. Passionfruit, figs, tamarillos, feijoas, citrus and rhubarb form the basis for the preserves they sell. At Christmas time, she makes hampers and Christmas cakes to order.

Massey Gardens + Orchard Ltd.
The sweet smell and bright red piles of summer ripe strawberries draw customers to Massey Garden stall during October, November and December.

Mamaku Blue (www.mamakublue.co.nz)
Mamaku Blue is the largest blueberry winery in New Zealand. Founded with the planting of the blueberry orchard in 1992, the blueberry farm now supplies fruit for a variety of wines, liqueurs, chutneys and other blueberry products. In winter Anne brings the frozen berries, chutneys and jams to the 1st Saturday of the month.

NZ Cheeseman
David Barley brings cheeses from all over New Zealand – only from small privately owned factories using vegetarian rennet. The brands include Evansale’s waxed French style cow cheeses, Mercer Cheese's goudas, walnut cheese and Dutch double cream goudas, Cleveland Valley Buffalo cheese, Matakoke mozzarella and sheep cheese pecarino, Gruff Junction from Christchurch, and Mt Eliza’s big UK-style rounds red Leicester and blues.

Orchard Fresh Avo
What makes an avocado last so long and taste so good? Limited handling. Meet the grower who picks his fruit the day before he comes from Katikati to market. Kevin Reid comes all year except for July and August when the trees recharge.

Pukeko Bakery
Jason Olmstead has been baking bread professionally for 20 years. He has worked in San Francisco, Colorado Springs, France and Italy. His hand made breads are sold in leading hotels and restaurants in Auckland and Wellington. Jason does bread making demonstrations at the market kitchen.

Queen of Tarts
Gloria Boulton comes in November and December for the Christmas rush – she brings gift wrapped delicious Xmas mince tarts and  Xmas cakes.

Ray Chong
Ray gets up at sparrows on Saturday mornings to pick the corn to bring to market - no wonder it tastes so good and lasts in the fridge! He brings capsicums, eggplants, tomatoes, spring onions, courgettes, lettuce, broccoli, silverbeet and beans – over the spring and summer months.

Seakai
Ray Chignall is our seafood specialist and brings only fresh New Zealand seafood to our market, seasonal changes provide an abundant selection of tasty delicacies including Nelson Scallops, Kina roe, northland Oysters, southland Blue cod. All year Ray has on board Snapper, gurnard, tarakihi, salmon and depending on availability Hapuka, Monk fish, Flounder. Freshly cooked Crayfish can also be ordered for that special occasion, whilst a great selection of freshly smoked fish is always available Salmon, Snapper ,Blue cod, including Tarakihi fillets finished in lemon pepper, many of these yummy morsels are out for tasting including smoked mussels and fish roe.

Silwoods
Greg Silwood has developed a range of high-end vegetables desired by restaurants and home cooks alike. His stall has a wide range of salad greens including micro greens, coloured petite carrots, edible flowers, beets, watercress, Jerusalem artichokes, turnips, fennel, Goldfinger kumera, purple flesh kumera, chard and lemons.

Stems Rose Farm, which is situated in West Auckland, supplies roses and rose or mixed flower bouquets at genuine wholesale prices. They are greenhouse growers of nine different and stunning rose varieties.

Sunset Eggs (www.sunsetfreerange.co.nz)
Sunset Eggs is a small company run by two families dedicated to quality real food and service. Sunset Freerange Poultry carries the SPCA free range egg accreditation scheme blue tick. Their free range egg farms are focused on animal welfare and are audited by SPCA inspectors to ensure the birds have good shelter, fresh food, water and that they are not over crowded.

The Coffee Guy (www.thecoffeeguy.co.nz)
The Coffee Guy first popped the boot to deliver piping hot, delicious espresso direct to customers in June 2005. Since then, they have been keeping the coffee coming for workers and commuters all over New Zealand.

Taihiki Orchard (www.nzfigs.co.nz)
Taihiki Orchards sells only the finest export quality figs. As a family owned business they work hard to make sure only the best figs come from their orchard to you. Taihiki Orchards produces and sells several types of figs including Adriatic, Brown Turkey and Genoa, while Black Boy Peaches and passionfruit are also sold.

Beef, free range pork, lamb (plus sausages and bacon) from Amanda and Wayne Hellier’s Northland farm – animals eating grass and with sun on their backs. Sometimes the piglets and 'big bad wolves' (farm dogs) come to the market to be introduced to the kids.
