Parnell Trust has a variety of activities lined up for your kids: Transylvania Golf, Jungle Fever, Taste Sensation, Robo Wars or create your own business to name a few.

During school holiday periods, Parnell Trust offers parents and children a wide selection of programmes including daily recreational activities for two age groups (5 - 10 year-olds and 9 - 14 year olds).  Two special interest challenges are offered for 9 to 14 year olds: Business for Kids and the Science, Engineering and Technology range of topics.

Rock On

For 9 -14 year olds

From 7 July to 18 July 2008 at Parnell District School


Sea Scenes at Kelly Tarlton's and over to Rangitoto for lunch, a interactive day at the SPCA, join the keepers at the Zoo, ride in a Hummerzine, Clip n Climb, movies at Mission Bay and end the holidays with a big day at Rainbows End.

Five Up
For 5 to 8 year-olds

From 7 July to 18 July 2008 at Parnell District School

Get your Hip Hop moves humming, a towering castle challenge follows a Sky Tower trip, discover Slime, attend a Funky Monkey performance, Mid Winter Party, stories in the sky at Stardome, Kelly Tarlton's is alway fun, Rhythm and Blues and join the older kids for the last big day - Rainbows End.

These are a few of the exciting and engaging day-long activities planned these holidays to keep younger kids entertained.

Special Interest Challenges for 9 to 14 year-olds

Science Engineering and Technology                        

Digital Music (4 days) 14 - 17 July 2008

A great new topic explores the physics of sound through practicle and hands on experiences.

This module introduces scientific and engineering principles like acoustics, vibrations, strength of material and energy transfer as the children design and construct their own simple musical instruments. In addition they explore musical software, perforrm and mix their own drum beats, visit a recording studio and make a demo tape to keep.

This series of topics was developed in conjunction with IBM and is a must for any who have a keen interest in the amazing science, cool techonolgy and fun of the music world.

Business for Kids  

7 - 11 July 2008

Business for Kids is the holiday programme that challenges children to think like an entrepreneur!

 

Created by Enterprise New Zealand Trust, it gives kids a hands-on introduction to the fascinating world of commerce. Have fun naming your company, designing your products and sales presentations for Market Day. New ventures are created as the children brainstorm ideas and decide on their offerings and strategies. Will you be the Accountant, Marketing Manager or CEO?
